I would try the USB utility first, however.
**If you have problems partitioning the drive through the Windows install utility, you may have to go in to macOS and make the partitions manually via Disk Utility.
*Now for the Windows drivers I can't remember if I downloaded only the drivers onto my USB drive via Boot Camp Assistant or if I had downloaded them by Googling it.
For some reason, installing through EFI messes up those devices and there's no driver solution available. Hey man! So installing it via EFI was the way to go, though by doing so you sacrifice the sound card (speakers and headphone jack) and the webcam. If I disconnect the enclosure and run OS X, run the automate-eGPU script, hot plug Thunder3, and re-run the script, the script will report that a Thunderbolt device was connected but no external display GPU was detected. Also tried waiting a bit to see maybe if Windows loaded, then tried using Chrome RDP via my phone to see if Windows loaded to no avail. I've also hit Window key + P to try to see if I can switch displays and would get nothing. If I try to boot into Windows, I get a black screen on my internal display and my external display via HDMI. Now for my MBP, if I try to boot into OS X with the Thunder3 connected, I get a kernel panic. I've tested the enclosure on my brother's ASUS laptop via Thunderbolt 3 and it detects no problem. Hey, guys! I'm having a frustrating time trying to get my early-2011 13" MBP to detect my eGPU on OSX 10.10 (booting from my old HDD via USB adapter) or even on my Windows 10 SSD (separate drive).Ĭurrently I'm using an Akitio Thunder3 enclosure with a 120W eFreesia power brick, ZOTAC 1050 Ti, and a Thunderbolt3 to Thunderbolt2 adapter.
